RECREATION LEVEL 1 & AVALANCHE RESCUE (3 Days, $595)​
The Recreation Level 1 and Avalanche Rescue course will provide you with a sound understanding of basic avalanche assessment and rescue. You will learn about snowpack assessment, weather, terrain and how these factors contribute to stability. This course is the foundation in the A3 (American Avalanche Association) required avalanche education progression. In addition, participants will learn the basics of companion rescue, become familiar with rescue gear, and will practice realistic scenarios to help improve skills. A Recreation Level 1 certificate and an Avalanche Rescue certificate are provided upon course completion.

REFRESHER CLINIC: AVALANCHE 1 & RESCUE
(1 Day, $245)​​
Refresh your Rec Level 1 knowledge and skills! This clinic covers route planning, avalanche terrain recognition, backcountry travel techniques, snowpack stability tests, interpreting avalanche forecast bulletins, snowpack and weather evaluation, avalanche mechanisms, route selection, human factors and how they influence decision-making, communication and group management in the backcountry, rescue scenarios, and beacon practice. INTRO TO BACKCOUNTRY TOURING (SKI or SPLIT, 1 or 2 DAYS $395)​
The mountains are calling! Learn the fundamentals of backcountry skiing or splitboarding in beautiful Central Oregon. Learn backcountry gear basics, avalanche awareness, and skinning techniques. Practice your transitions from uphill kick-turns to downhill riding and being an efficient backcountry traveler​

INTRO TO WINTER CAMPING (3 DAYS $595)​​​​​​
What could be more fun than coming back to a wintery base camp after a tour riding fluffy powder? We'll show you how to winter camp in comfort and style. We'll build quinzhees (a dome-shaped shelter created by hollowing out a large, pre-mounded pile of sintered snow), cook in a group kitchen carved into the snow, eat delicious meals that you make and share stories around a pedestal fire in camp. Explore Central Oregon's backcountry in a pristine way most people don't see.​
